Sri T. Venkata Ramana, Leader of the Sri Alluri Sitha Rama Raju Open Rover Crew (18 members), Government College for Men, Kadapa (1996–1997), was conferred the Vice President's Award in recognition of his outstanding community service. His leadership was instrumental in organizing and participating in numerous social welfare initiatives across the Kadapa region, including flood relief operations, awareness campaigns on medicinal plants, dengue fever and other communicable diseases, Pulse Polio immunization drives, leprosy control programmes and various other community development activities.
