The Dept. of Urdu was established in the year 1950. Stalwarts of the then Madras State, Prof. Mahboob Basha and Prof. Hyder Ali of Madras were appointed as Faculty. After the formation of Andhra State, the legacy was carried forward by Mr. Syed Darwesh Qadri . A number of Faculty Members and Alumni of our Dept. excelled in various fields and are fondly remembered for their contribution to the society. Presently working, highly qualified, well experienced faculty members of the Dept. of Urdu are well known for their academic and literary expertise. Dedication to mould our students as exemplary future citizens of India and a genuine passion for Teaching and Learning are the outstanding features of the Dept. of Urdu.
